Abdominoplasty ("tummy tuck" procedure)

Abdominoplasty is a method that removes excess of fat, skin and tightens the surrounding muscles. During it surgeon separates the skin and fat from the abdominal wall all the way up to your ribs and lifts a large skin flap to reveal the vertical muscles in your abdomen. If it is necessary these muscles are tightened by pulling them close together and stitching them into their new position. The skin flap is then stretched down and the extra skin is removed. Abdominal scars will not show under most clothing. In our clinic we usually perform abdominoplasty in general anesthesia. After surgery one or two overnight nursing facility is required.
